We promote high standards of environmental and resource management and make every effort to integrate them into all sectors of operations. We promote environmental awareness amongst employees and motivate them to act in an environmentally responsible manner. We confirm our commitment to the proper management and monitoring of waste, to pollution, to compliance and environmental legislation, training, and education of staff.
The Company continually seeks ways to assist our suppliers in assessing the impact of their own activities on the local environment and we aim to increase awareness of our environmental efforts by promoting clear communication levels with all suppliers and through our company website and literature.
To ensure the Company remains current and looks to promote best practice at all times, we will continuously seek further improvement where possible. This will include matters such as:
EV Initiative
We remain mindful of our environmental impact. As we have done across all areas of our service provision, we continue to measure our carbon emissions proactively and as a responsible organisation we promote the use of environmentally friendly low emission vehicles.
It is also our company's stated commitment to achieve a 30% fleet of electric vehicles within the whole of Amvale group fleet. We have been trialling electric vehicles since 2013 and through our supplier network we have access within our supply chain for many variants of electric vehicles and have already incorporated some 20 vehicles within our overall vehicle fleet (around 6%).
To this end, we will undertake that wherever possible, electric vehicles or low emission hybrids will be used, where appropriate.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
As a local Company we understand that changes associated with the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 places social value at the heart of how CCGs and other government agencies need to work. We also believe that public services should be delivered in a way that provides maximum public benefit to the local community.
We work to promote local apprenticeships and we have supported schools, colleges, and local employment outcomes by delivering free careers advice to our local job centre. We contribute to creating skills and work opportunities and actively promote Work Experience opportunities to school children and young adults.
We carry out assessments of suppliers’ facilities and practices, by organising onsite visits and face-to-face meetings through mandatory audits and spot checks, with support and advice on avoidance of impacts altogether and/or reduction of impacts where unavoidable.
To ensure the Company remains current and looks to promote best practice at all times, we will continuously seek further improvement where possible. This will include matters such as:
